Abstract：ObjectiveTo investigate the imaging features of proliferative myositis (PM) on color doppler ultrasonography. MethodsEight cases of proliferative myositis confirmed by surgery in the Department of General Surgery of Qingdao Municipal Hospital from January 2013 to November 2017 were collected and 34 cases of this diseases reported in relevant literatures were reviewed. The clinical characteristics of 42 patients with PM and color doppler ultrasound features were analyzed. ResultsPM is characterized by suddenly and rapidly increasing phyma, which can be accompanied by tenderness and no fever. The phyma in the ultrasound image is an inhomogenous echo group, with obscure boundary and a unique "turtleback-like" or "checkerboard-like" pattern. ConclusionIn view of the self-healing particularity of PM, it can be diagnosed by its special clinical features and unique imaging features of color doppler ultrasound.
