Abstract:Percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) or percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) is a popular way to treat the osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, which can alleviate the acute back pain, reduce the deformity of spine, gain a less injury to patients. However, one of the most common complications is the responsible centrum adjacent intervertebral disc degeneration after PKP/PVP with the high incidence. There is no common standard to its early clinic diagnose, the factors and dignosis briefly will be illustrated in this review.
