Abstract:ObjectiveStudy on the relationship between irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and emotional factors. MethodsA total of 1085 patients with IBS treated in 5 hospitals including Shanxi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2016 to November 2017 were enrolled. Emotional performances in patients with IBS were evaluated by Qiqing Assessment Scale (QAS) and the relationship between IBS patients and Qiqing was analyzed. ResultsIn this study, the QAS score of Kong (23.26 ± 2.66) was the highest. The types of IBS were associated with emotional factors(χ2=217.18,P<0.01). Patients with diarrheal IBS had higher scores of Kong (23.82±2.59) and Jing (23.26±2.43) than those of other types (F=37.58, 20.24, all P<0.01). The scores of Si (21.54±1.74) and You (21.50±2.10) in constipated IBS patients were higher than those in other patients (F=51.29, 17.33, all P<0.01). The types of IBS were associated with emotional factors (χ2=492.52,P<0.01). The scores of Si (21.92±2.46),(21.34±2.21), Kong (24.27±2.67), (24.16±2.64), You (21.43±2.59), (21.41±2.43) and Jing (23.39±2.51), (23.01±1.74) in Ganyupixu and Ganyuqizhi patients were higher than those in other types patients (F=47.59, 44.95, 17.66, 17.70, all P<0.01). The score of Nu (18.96±2.48) in Changdaozaore patients was higher than those in other types patients (F=4.75,P<0.01). ConclusionsIBS is associated with Qiqing. Diarrheal IBS is closely related to Kong and Jing. Constipated IBS is closely related to Si and You.
