Abstract:In both meta-analyses and systematic review studies, there are few consistent reports of insomnia characteristics, including cognition, emotion, trait, life events and family history. In other words, the heterogeneity of patients with insomnia is relatively prominent, which is also the reason why there are many subtypes of insomnia. Insomnia subtype has specific multivariable characteristics, therefore, this article will find the difference between patients with insomnia and normal sleepers from the aspects of demography, psychological and physical health, childhood traumas and life events, fatigue, sleepiness, excessive awakening and other sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, sleep history, emotional characteristics, quality of life, personality, wellbeing, self-awareness, misconceptions, self emotional management, nocturnal, wakefulness, food intake, temperature perception, and hedonic evaluation. The analysis of the heterogeneity of insomnia can help people find their own characteristics in a large sample of insomnia population. Meanwhile, it can help medical staff to better classify and manage the insomnia population, promote the discovery of subtypes of insomnia, improve the sleep quality of insomnia patients, and provide theoretical basis for the development of individualized treatment programs for insomnia patients.
